Went abd saw the Grinch musical here. Wasn't sure how the seats were gonna be as we were in the balcony. They were great, I could see the whole stage. It was clean and the show was great. I did find it a bit cold in there but I guess maybe they had to for the performers with the lights and everything. They had the booster seats for kids, my son used it so he could see over someone's head and didn't have to complain the whole time. They even had concession and merchandise which I was surprised. It was a great show and the centre was a great venue!
Me and my partner's first time going to this theater, we went to see the Nutcracker last Saturday, and we had a unpleasant experience... The ballet was great but before the show, the door staff was rude and not at all friendly, it made us feel uncomfortable with the way they would speak to us and other people there. And regarding the clealiness of the place, we saw the evening show but yet, we saw popcorn everywhere on the floor from the afternoon show. Disappointing that they can't even keep the theather clean for their next guests...And also, people in front of us had their phones out the whole show taking videos and photos, very hard to enjoy the ballet. We won't be going back, Elizabeth theater is much better.
Greetings,
First and foremost, I extend my commendation to the performers for an outstanding display, earning a perfect 10/10 rating.
However, I observed certain logistical aspects that merit attention. Notably, the continuous admission of guests up to an hour into the performance disrupted the overall ambience. It may be advisable to consider delaying late seating until intermission to minimize disturbances.
Additionally, popcorn was served, its inherent noise posed a distraction during moments of silence in the ballet. Exploring alternative, less disruptive snack options could enhance the overall audience experience.
Moreover, the absence of ushers to enforce a quiet atmosphere and manage flash photography was noticeable. I acknowledge the potential correlation with the ongoing influx of late arrivals. Establishing a more structured ushering system could effectively address this issue.
I offer these insights to contribute to the ongoing improvements of your show. Despite these considerations, I express my appreciation for the artistic excellence showcased during the ballet performance and anticipate future visits.
Best regards,
L
I'm giving 2 stars to the Centre Of Performing Arts. Went to watch The Nutcracker and was disappointed that pop corn was being served as a snack. I went to watch a musical performance but all around me, all I heard was crunching and chewing. I wish a 'not crunchy' snack was provided. There was popcorn spilt all over the aisles and stairs. It made an elegant evening feel cheap. If I want pop corn and a movie, I'll go to the cinema.
It was also very disorganized and chaotic. The concession line was crossing over and merging with the washroom line and it was endless confusion. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet put on a great performance for The Nutcracker.
Watching the Nutcracker ballet in the Centre For Performing Arts, Queen Elizabeth Theatre was an absolute pleasure. Such a wonderful performance in a fabulous building. Building of this theatre is well designed. They had decorated the theatre for Christmas 🎄
Helpful staff were everywhere in any corner happy to guide people. Clean and enough washrooms always is a must which I approve the cleanliness of washrooms in here.
If there is any event in future happening in this venue, jump on the website to book a ticket. I promise you will enjoy it
The venue was great, as was the performance. I was really disappointed in the quality and speed of hanging out popcorn and such.
My seat cushion wasn't very comfortable and while maybe a minor point after two hours it was a major inconvenience. We went to see the Nutcracker. The intermission lobby circulation was, well, nutty as the concession lines crossed pathways to get to the the washrooms. The Nutcracker is better suited to the larger stage and performance auditorium of the QE Theatre.
Great venue. All seats are great, even the side balconies. The upper level is a bit far from the stage, but usually good value.
